Clayburn's Steps for a Better World

Hey there, peoples. So, I started writing about fixing the world, and it got to be a bit lengthy. Everybody loves lists, though. That's why I decided I would just make a list of things, and I will try to update them regularly. So, give me some ideas!

Eventually I may write about an item on the list to explain why it would make the world a better place. If you want discussion, then you can do so in the comments. I'm not going to bother explaining my reasoning in the post itself, though. You'll just have to take my word for it that these things would in fact make the world a much better place.

Clayburn's Steps

  • Legalize Marijuana

  • End Religion

  • Stem Cell Research

  • Consumption Tax

  • Legalize Prostitution

  • End Organic Farming

  • Repeal Patriot Act

  • True Sex Education (No abstinence-only crap)

  • Legalize Gay Marriage

  • Cancel American Idol and other "talent" shows

  • Do away with the FCC

  • Cut Government Spending

There you have it, boys and girls, and Amanda. Look forward to updates of this list, and if you want to be a vital part of how I go about making the world a better place, give me some feedback via comments.

i agree with everything except "end religion" simply because it seems to go against the flow of the rest of your list. your steps for a better world seem to imply greater freedoms and a live and let live attitude, where one person's freedom only goes so far as the next. telling someone not to believe something that only has as much power as that person gives it seems to be a sweeping unnecessary move.

what would make more sense is to completely instill the importance of seperating the power of a religion in the mass governments. sadly the seperation of church and state isn't foolproof and thus i understand the frustration one must have with organized religion's influence on the world, but a "fuck it, let's call it a day and wrap up this whole belief up" attitude seems just as harmful as religion having too much power.

merely saying that religion must end makes your steps no better than the (effing!) FFC, the patriot act, or the illegalization of things such as MJ, marriage, or prostitution, where one implies that a restrictions of unharmful individuality are somehow beneficial to a society.

and have you had central market organic milk? my god...heaven raised those cows, i do believe. that's about as far as my organic food needs go, so if we could keep that and ban the rest then yay.
